Japan High Comm Co. Ltd. has successfully achieved the industry's first practical use of microwave drying system for lost wax casting mold. We have been developing, manufacuting, and supplying microwave equipment for defrosting, heating, sterilizing, drying, and heating in food industry over a decade. Based on its experiences and accomplishments, we now would like to contribute to drastic reduction in drying time of lost wax mold. Microwave has an instant effect to dry molds as slurry consistency is adjusted with certain water fractional rate and that fused silica sand (SiO2) and alumina are used for sanding. Establishing short lead time delivery system does not only simply shorten delivery time but also generates a strong and powerful business unit structure, which brings benefits that is indescribable in figures. We are not the first company adapting the idea of using microwave to reduce mold drying time. Some other makers have also worked toward practical use of microwave drying system, and people in lost wax industry have made repeated experiments using microwave oven also, however, practical application of microwave has not been achieved in neither case yet. We are confident that our microwave drying system, which has been developed by combining our established microwave technology and mold drying technology and know-how, contributes to the establishment of new drying technology.
