Inclusions in any Investment Casting create quality issues but more so in aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine applications. Inspection of these defects is normally by Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) or Radiographic (RI). In order to reduce/eliminate these inclusions one must decide the sources of these defects within casting process. As some time in real life, what looks natural may not be right cause. Inclusions sources may come from different sources compared to the apparent sources. Using different investigative techniques e.g. EPMA, EDS etc. one can pin point the real source and then eliminate the sources.
