“Filled pattern waxes have long dominated modern invest casting practice, offering excellent dimensional control, optimized rheology & acceptable de-wax performance. Recently, however, certain negative factors associated with current filler variants (cost / environmental concerns /reclaimability, for instance) have refocused interest in unfilled (or lightly filled) blends.
In response, Paramelt has developed & refined a range of unfilled waxes that can effectively compete with traditional filled blends. This paper considers the design philosophies & technical challenges involved & presents sound evidence that clearly demonstrates the technical capabilities and ongoing progress of these new products. It goes on to show how these materials can be tuned to address requirements in the various investment casting market segments. Additional work on the progress of novel investment casting wax formulations will also be addressed.”
